LITERATURA EM FOCO

      Dia Nacional do Livro Infantil
                       (18 de Abril)

          A data não foi escolhida ao acaso: trata-se de uma justa homenagem a Monteiro Lobato, escritor que, como poucos, dedicou-se à literatura infantil no Brasil. O Dia Nacional do Livro Infantil foi instituído em 2002, ano em que foi criada a Lei 10.402/02, registrando a data de nascimento de Monteiro Lobato como o dia oficial da Literatura infanto juvenil. Escritor vinculado ao Pré-Modernismo brasileiro que contribuiu com obras célebres, Lobato deixou também um enorme legado para a literatura infanto juvenil, já que mais da metade de seus livros era dedicada a esse público.
